January 19, 2010 - Sources: Pit Bulls Suspected in Death
Police sources said a 56-year-old Chicago man may have been killed by the pit bulls his daughter was raising.
The Chicago Tribune said Monday that following the discovery of Johnny Wilson's bloodied body in a Chicago home on Sunday, Chicago Animal Care and Control assumed custody of four pit bulls and two puppies taken from the property.
Wilson was pronounced dead several hours after he was found in the south side home Sunday night.
One of the unidentified sources said Wilson's daughter, whose identity was not released, admitted she had been breeding the dogs. The victim's daughter told authorities her father's loud voice tended to frighten the animals.
A spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner's office said Wilson's body had numerous bite marks. Other sources said the man suffered trauma to his head, chest and upper body, the newspaper reported.
The Tribune said the case is under investigation and no charges have been filed to date.
